Wakefield Football Centre and Coronavirus
During the current uncertainty surrounding coronavirus, we want to reassure you that your local league, and casual play operated by us, will continue.
Small sided community leagues are not part of restrictions that have been imposed on 11 aside football, for two clear reasons:
Firstly, there are not usually spectators at our matches (apart from other team members).
Secondly, the vast majority of our leagues operate in the evening when there is no access to shower facilities, most of our players do not use changing rooms in facilities, in the way that 11 aside players do. Small sided players usually turn up pitch side, play, then go straight home in their football kit.
If there are circumstances when your league is going to be cancelled in the future then we will let you know directly either through a telephone call to your team captain, an email to all team contacts, a newsletter, or on the website in the Breaking News section.
If you hear nothing from us, keep playing.
Small sided football, in open spaces, like running, can play an important part in keeping the nation fit during this crisis.
Wakefield Football Centre will always follow Government advice, and in the meantime, we would like to remind all players or officials that they should:
Not attend the league if they feel unwell, have coronavirus symptoms or have been tested positive for COVID-19.
